Being an Investor

There is a difference between being an investor and being in the investment business.  

The investment business is generally interested in how much assets the general partner has under management and the ways to retain such capital. RWC deliberately sets the firm structure to have a clear focus on its role as a principal investor with the ability to hold concentrated positions and invest in both public and private markets. 

Without the aggression and the idea that excellent opportunities will be few, most likely we are not going to have a great result as an investor over the long-term. We aim to grab those opportunities with vigor when they come, understanding that even in the most favored life, they are rare.

Team Structure 

We work with people who we do enjoy spending time with, and we are proud of working with them.

We allocate ownership at RWC. What important to us is to have each member committing to make their own investment decisions, understand the consequences of their decisions, and overtime learn about things that help them refine their judgment. 

If we are learning and having fun, the return will take care of itself.
